PG - 187-96 AB - Dendritic cells (DCs) are the most potent antigen-presenting cells (APCs) involved in the induction of adaptive immune responses. The presence of DCs in the central nervous system (CNS) and the active participation of the immune system in a variety of neurodegenerative diseases have been demonstrated. This review will discuss recent findings pertinent to DCs and other antigen-presenting cells in the CNS in health and disease states.
