PG - 383-4 AB - Using AAS method, we detected serum and erythrocyte iron, serum ferritin (SF), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) in the elders with hypertension and coronary heart disease. The results showed that the levels of serum iron, erythrocyte iron and SF were significantly higher than those in the healthy control (P < 0.01). It is concluded that iron metabolic abnormality may be one of the factors resulting in hypertension and coronary heart disease.
