The combination of the 3 inducers at various concentrations resulted in a potentiation of the formation of leukotriene B4 metabolites suggesting that multiregulatory steps play a key role to govern the 5-lipoxygenase activity. These results suggest that the use of agents that can act synergistically to produce leukotrienes may be worthwhile investigating to understand some aspects of the leukotriene biosynthesis.
