The relative rarity of the disease coupled with its affliction primarily in young, athletic individuals makes it a difficult condition to diagnose. Treatment modalities have been limited to surgical intervention, with more novel methods being developed over the last several years. We present a case report and review the diagnostic and management approaches for FPAES, shedding light on proposed future interventions.
