PG - 299-303 AB - We report the use of continuous venovenous hemodiafiltration (CVVHD) in a case of massive intentional ingestion of pentobarbital associated with severe coma and hypotension. Despite a poor hemodynamic state, toxic epuration (15% of drug ingested) was obtained. However, death occurred 7 hr after the end of treatment. This report suggests that CVVHD can be effective in the treatment of massive pentobarbital intoxication.
