PG - S69-76 AB - The Home Health Care Classification (HHCC) is a standardized nomenclature designed for home health and/or ambulatory care. The HHCC was developed not only to code, index, and classify care, but also to document and track the nursing care process over time, and across settings and geographic locations. Five major reasons why the HHCC nomenclature should be used in computer-based home health and ambulatory care systems are discussed. The advantages outweigh the disadvantages and demonstrate why it is the preferred nursing classification vocabulary available today.
